Samsung & LG Say They Don’t Slow Down Phones Like Apple
Well, a few days ago we have seen Apple publicly admitted that they purposely slowed down older iPhones with an iOS update to avoid battery problem. Well, according to Apple, the step has been taken just to improve the battery health. However, the customers of Apple felt it hard to digest the news.
Following this, the tech giant Apple has issued a lengthy apology letter to its loyal customer. The tech giant labeled the circumstances as “misunderstanding about the issue. Apple said “We know that some of you feel Apple has let you down. We apologize”. “Our goal has always been to create products that our customers love, and making iPhones last as long as possible is an important part of that.”
Following the issue, Samsung and LG the two leading smartphone manufacturers came out to say that none of their phones employ similar practices. Samsung and LG have emailed Phone Arena to say that they never slow down their phone’s processing power to prevent battery issues.
LG said “Never have, never will! We care what our customers think”. On the other hand, Samsung said “We ensure the extended battery life of Samsung mobile devices through multi-layer safety measures, which include software algorithms that govern the battery charging current and charging duration. We do not reduce CPU performance through software updates over the lifecycles of the phone.”
So, the step taken by Apple to prevent battery issues doesn’t seem to be the widespread practice in the industry. However, the step failed miserably. However, recently Apple had made it easier to replace the battery by slashing the price of batteries.
The company said that whenever an aged battery is replaced with a new one, the performance of the iPhone will be returned back to normal. So, what do you think about this? Share your views in comment box
